Studying Abroad.

As in my last post I mentioned that I was working on going on a Study abroad trip this summer. I am actually going, I will be staying in Nottingham, Britain through the month of July. With a weekend spent in Paris, France and Edinburgh, Scotland.

I am super excited to be going to some of the places I have always wanted to go since I was little. I have been in love with Britain and Europe for as long as I can remember.

The rest of this upcoming month of June will be scrambling to get everything together in order to be ready to go.

For one of the classes that I am taking, Digital Storytelling, I am going to be required to have a daily blog that I am going to have to update with pictures and stories about my time sight seeing and learning with photo's and stories.

So, I am overwhelmed but excited!

Talk about behind on the times.

Last post wasn't since 2010, that's a lot to catch up on....

Short version for right now.

I'm going to school, I'm working on going to study Abroad in England this summer... keeping my fingers crossed.

Further updates of what my life has been like once I figure out where to start and what was important enough to update about.

Things..could be worse.

A trip to utah, a trip to California, getting ready for a month long excursion to Chicago, family in town and traffic school coming up. Don't things sound wonderful?

The house is.... semi clean and I've got a headache.

*Deep Breath*

See, things could be worse.

Actually things are going pretty well. The trip to Utah was for a sisters wedding which was wonderful. She looked beautiful and it was nice to see family who I haven't seen in a while. It was also really nice to see the mountains and the cooler air and play with my niece and my nephew.

We came home for three days and then my parents and I went off to Santa Barbara, California for the weekend and the Fourth of July. It was nice seeing the beach and the mountains in such a close time period. The best far was the reason we went to California. Which was to help clean out my grandmothers kitchen and get rid of stuff that she no longer needs. She was really grateful for all the help.

But one of the best things of going wasn't the service, or the visits to the beach, but the time I got to spend with my grandparents. They are getting on in age and their memories aren't as good as they used to be. It was hard to see, but what made it so special was hearing my grandmother and grandfather talking about things they did remember. About growing up in the depression. Stories I had never heard before. And it was really special to hear about their childhood and growing up for them. It's made me feel closer to them then I have ever felt. It was really really special.

I love spending time alone with my dad. And I got to go to the art show at the Santa Barbara wharf. We saw some really cool things and I got to spend time with my dad which is always special.

After coming home, my sister and brother in law were in town to drop off their kids while they left out of town. We had them for the weekend, four kids exhausting. Not that I don't love my niece and nephews. We took them to go see "Toy Story 3" which was funny. But by far the best part was the Spanish Buzz.

Now my parents are out of town, I'm home alone, trying to slowly get the house clean. My oldest nephew spent the night last night where we watched movies, and then went to go see "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" which was awesome. Who ever came up with horrified plugs was a genius, a messed up one, but a genius.

Next Saturday I have driving school for running a red light, my first time. Feel like a total idiot. I have shopping to do before I leave, a house to finish cleaning up as much as I can before my parents come home on Sunday. Mostly because I can only live in a messy house for so long.

Some time at the end of the month I'm going to Chicago. Which I am thrilled about. I need to make a list and time for things to go do and see. Although my main reason is going to help my brother and sister in law with their new baby. So excited to see her.

What I'm going to do when I get back?

Look for work most likely. I'm not worried.

*Deep Breath*

Here we go.

What Goes Up, Tends to Come Down... Hard!

Depression sucks.

I'm pretty sure by now that I have some mild form of it. Maybe I'm being a little melodramatic about it but some times it helps. Being melodramatic about it or not though, I'm still pretty sure I have it in some form.

I have a lot of low days. Yo-yo effect.

But when things are going so well, something tends to crash it down harder then it needs to be sometimes. Lately, things had been going well. But karma backlash sucks.

I'm quiting my job in two weeks, and that's the best thing going for me lately. And I'm not the only one quiting there either. We've had like four other people quite in the last month. Little to say my current boss is not happy. Their loss though that they are not managing their store better. Though I do admit that I'll miss a lot of my co-workers. They're good people.

Another side note is that I'll be going to Chicago for about a month and I'm looking forward to that. If only to get a change of scenery and get out of the Arizona heat. (And yes I am aware that Chicago is bound to be just as hot and humid to boot.) I'm still excited. So now I just need to find something to do with my time during the month of July. Hmm.

Anywho, sad notes.

The most painful one is that my best friend is moving to Virginia for at least a year. Three hour time difference, and considering she's the only person I actually go out to hang out with. You can start to see my reason for the depression spiral.

I don't talk to most of my other friends anymore, and I don't talk to them nearly as much as I talk to her.

And I don't make friends easily. I have a hard time opening up to people and letting them see me. I still have that problem with the friends I got.

Hells bells, sometimes life just sucks!

Happy Times around the Corner.

"REN - FAIRE"

HUZZAH!

Yep, folks, it's that time of the year again. The Arizona Renaissance Festival is in town and I'm going on Saturday. So I'm spending my day off work to finish getting ready to go. By finishing sewing up a shirt that I am making and listening to Rock n Roll Bag Pipes. Yep, you heard me, Rock n Roll Bag Pipes!

Tartanic Rocks!

I go every year only this year got a little more complicated because I actually work now. So finding time to go was hard. But at least this year I have money to spend and I'll be able to actually get things that I want this year. But with today my only day off this week and having to work late tomorrow, today is all about finishing getting ready to go. Working out how to get there for one, how to get back, what to wear and then I'll be up even later doing last minute things to get ready, like shaving uh huh, yep.

Then Saturday it will be up early to get there when the doors open. (Note to self: Sun block this year.) Got to remember that. Or I just need to get my friend to pound it into my skull this year. Which ever works the best.

On top of that I'm getting over a cold, thankfully that only lasted a couple of days. But I've been chugging down Orange Juice and Vick's Nite Quil and Day Quil, (That stuff is a life saver.) And I will be continuing to take it through out the rest of the week and on Saturday before I go.

Also my sister is here in town with her kids so I've been spending time with them, so between them, work and getting ready for Ren-Fair, I've been really pushing it this week. Hopefully the end result will pull something off spectacular and I can just sit back and have some serious R&R.

There will be more long ranting of the Ren-Fair when I actually go to it. But until then wish me luck.

Rich Blessings on the Up and Up.

2010, has started out as such a good year so far. With so many blessings already here and just around the corner. Especially for me and my family.

Blessing number one:

My brother Isaac and my sister in law Heidi were blessed with a little baby girl. Isabel Winter Robinson. Sweetest thing ever and is so tiny compared to how large her older brother was when he was born.

There were come complications when she was born, but she remains in our prayers and we are glad to have her as a member of our ever growing family.

Blessing number two:

It was announce that my older sister Kathryn is getting married in June in Utah, so we'll be going up there for that. She asked me to be a bridesmaid which I said yes to so this week end I am going out with my other sister Susan to go looking for a dress so that the other bridesmaids can match in color.

Blessing number Three:

On Sunday my sister Kimberly just had her second baby, this time a baby boy named Beckett Scot McOwen. I haven't seen him yet because they live in Utah, but I've seen pictures and he looks super cute. But we are going up there this week-end to drive my mom up there so that she can help out with the new baby and my niece Ella. So we are driving up there and I'll get to see him and my other nephew and nieces. Which I'm really excited for because the last couple of times my parents have gone up there I wasn't able to go because of work, and my friends wedding. It's only for about a day and a half that we'll be there. But I'm still excited to go. And besides after that my sister is driving back down with my mom and her kids so I'll be able to see them :)

Blessing number four:

My other brother and sister in Law, Jacob and Heidi, are having a little girl. She's still on the way, but things are going good and we are all happy for them.

Blessing number five:

I still have a job, (rant about job still in progress). I enjoy my job for the most part. But being on your feet for several hours at a time is exhausting. Not to mention some people are crazy. But I get along with my co-workers for the most part and having a paycheck is really nice. Speaking of which I really need to do my finances.....

Blessing number six:

I've got my lap-top finally. And it is ubber Nifty! It's got a multi-touch screen, 17' inch screen and is just really Shiny. There was a couple of fix it things when I first got it, but now it's working well and I am loving it!

Blessing abound around me right now and I am ever thankful. Life is good.

Extended Absence.

I realize I have been gone for a very long time since I wrote last time in the blog. I don't have really any good reasons for the long absence from writing. But make of them what you will (as most people tend to do anyway.)

Reason #1:

Frankly, I'm lazy and some times I just don't feel like writing. Which has become more and more obvious by my lack of writing for my course which I'm almost done with anyway. Seriously I should just do the last two assignments and then I wouldn't have to worry about them.

Reason #2:

Lack of anything decent to write. My life isn't interesting enough to write many things. I don't have a real social life and my dating life is still non existent. Good enough reason for me? You bet ya!

Reason #3:

I actually work now, I have a job at "Hobby Lobby" craft store. Which actually takes a lot of my time now. (Ranting about the job to come later, but the money is nice.)

Reason #4:

It's been the holidays, which is another reason to take up my time along with work. And I had a wedding for a friend at the same time. Most likely the other reason why I haven't written anything lately.

So there you have it. My reasons for not writing in the blog lately. But now I should have a lot of things to write about considering that I haven't been on forever. I have a lot of things to catch up on. WOOT!

I'll catch you up on some of the things that I've been doing with my time at a later date. Until then have many happy roads in life and such, yeah.
